South Somerset Visitor Information Centre
A warm welcome awaits everyone at our multi award-winning South Somerset Visitor Information Centre & Gift Shop, conveniently located on the iconic A303 at Cartgate Picnic Site.
A perfect stop if you're en-route to the South West or taking a break in our glorious region. South Somerset is a great base to explore the local area and all of its amazing things to see and do, as well as being under an hour away from the vibrant cities of Bristol and Bath.
Cartgate Lodge Cafe is just opposite us, and with plenty of room to stretch your legs, walk the dog and lots of free parking, it's no wonder a stop here has become part of the holiday itself. The centre is only a short drive from Yeovil town centre and popular with both visitors and residents.
With so much choice of what to do, where to go and where to stay, our friendly and knowledgeable staff are on hand to help you plan a perfect day or relaxing holiday. We offer a fantastic range of Somerset brochures and leaflets as well as UK wide destination guides, books and OS maps.
We proudly support more than 20 local Somerset and South West makers, businesses and producers, so you might just find a special keepsake to make your holiday last that little longer.
Accessibility:
We also sell RADAR keys for access to disabled toilets nationwide. We are able to copy leaflets in larger print, have an A4 magnifying glass, an induction hearing loop is available and there is level access to the centre on both sides.

South Somerset's Commitment to the Environment and Sustainability
In May 2019 South Somerset District Council formally recognised a climate and ecological emergency and in October of that year produced an environment strategy that sets ambitious targets to protect the environment and ecology. We've pledged to become a carbon neutral organisation by 2030.
From 2021 all energy used at our Information Centre is from sustainable sources dramatically reducing our carbon footprint.
