Bushcraft- Fire Lighting

Come and have a go at lighting a fire. No matches allowed!

We will walk around areas of the site collecting all the vital elements required to build a fire. Once we have all we need, you will be taught how to use a Flint and Steel to get the spark needed to start the fire. You will then be shown how to slowly build your fire with the things you have collected to give it more fuel and heat, this will help you survive if out in the wild to keep you warm on winter day.

All the hard work of gathering and getting your fire started would make anyone hungry,  so we will finish off with toasting marshmallows.

Cost £6 per child. Aimed at 6-10 year olds. All children to be accompanied by an adult.

Booking essential - To book please email Countryside countryside@somerset.gov.uk with the number of places required and a phone number. We will check availability and confirm your place. Payment needs to be made in cash on the day.
